Budget Perspective Workshops
The "Year of Education Reform"
The Governor and members of the Legislature continue to tout 2008 as the "Year of Education Reform." While the Governor's January budget is the single most important state policy initiative each year for school administrators trying to plan the year ahead, the Governor's 2008 budget proposal will set the stage for what many expect to be a year full of K-12 education reform proposals that will effect everyone.
Co-sponsored by SI&A, ACSA, and the Small School Districts Association (SSDA), the Budget Perspectives workshops are designed to cover the Governor's budget proposal and to evaluate that proposal and the likely final outcomes, based on the insights and experience of veteran educational advocates.
